After retirement, many homeowners want to downsize or even take advantage of independent living communities. Others are planning for the future where they may need assisted living. Yet they don't want to give up the dining, nightlife, and cultural attractions offered by an urban location.
Here are the three luxury retirement communities in the Biltmore and Scottsdale areas that I've visited, and what they offer.
Revel Scottsdale: This independent living community is on Indian Bend Road near the Scottsdale Greenbelt. It has an active social calendar, two restaurants with made-to-order meals, and a movie theater. For a tour, call (480) 900 4530.
Clarendale Arcadia: Located at Camelback and 32nd St, this community offers independent and assisted living. Its community room offers views of both Mummy Mountain and Camelback Mountain. It also has a bocce ball court and a putting green. For tours, call 480-573-3700
Acoya Shea: This community offers independent living, assisted living, and memory care. It is located right at Scottsdale and Shea. The rooms have motion sensors so someone will know if you fall. Call 480-418-0699.
What It Means to You
